Rev. Rachel Hopkins & Samuel Hopkins - Lead Pastor & Deacon
After graduating from Regents Theological College in 2020 with a BA (Hons) in Applied Theology, Rachel began her ministry journey as a Minister in Training at Nantwich Elim Church, where she had been attending and serving faithfully for 13 years. During her time there, she led the children's and youth ministries, investing in the discipleship and spiritual growth of the next generation. Alongside her church ministry, Rachel also served bi-vocationally, including working as a hospital chaplain at Royal Stoke Hospital. In November 2024, Rachel and her husband Sam sensed God calling them to Hanley, where she accepted the role of Lead Pastor. Rachel was ordained in June 2025. Sam serves faithfully within the church as a deacon, worship leader, and leader in the men’s ministry. He carries a deep passion for worship and for encouraging others in their walk with God. Both Rachel and Sam are excited to be part of all that God is doing in and through Hanley Elim Church and eagerly anticipates seeing lives transformed by His love.
Colin Walton - Elder
Colin has been a member of Hanley Elim for over 40 years and currently serves faithfully as the church elder. Throughout his time in the church, he has played a vital role in supporting its life and ministry, offering wisdom, care, and guidance to the congregation. Colin’s steady leadership and commitment to serving God and others are deeply valued within the Hanley Elim community.
Annemarie Walton - Deacon
Annemarie has been a devoted member of Hanley Elim for over 40 years. Throughout her time in the church, she has served faithfully across a wide range of ministries, including children’s, youth, and women’s ministries. She currently serves as a Deacon and also the church’s Safeguarding Coordinator, ensuring a safe and caring environment for everyone in the church community. Annemarie’s long-standing commitment and heart for people reflect her deep love for God and His church.
Eddie Roberts - Deacon
Eddie has been a member of Hanley Elim for over 40 years and serves faithfully both as a deacon and leader of the Tech Team. Over the years, he has been a dedicated part of church life, using his skills and commitment to support the ministry and worship of the church. Eddie’s faithfulness and behind-the-scenes service are deeply appreciated by the Hanley Elim community.
